Travel Tips Maroc Surf Festival

Below is some useful travel information for Roots Surf Fest Morocco.
Any further questions don’t hesitate to let us know.

Roots MoroccoBy far your cheapest option unless you get lucky on the net is to get to Marrakech, then take a bus to Agadir (15€ – 3 hours) then onwards to Taghazout by public bus (2€ – 45 minutes) or Taxi (25€).

FLIGHTS (The airlines we usually fly with are Ryanair, Easyjet and Royal Air Maroc. Like with most of these trips the earlier you book the cheaper it will be)
Try these flight search engines for help:
www.bravofly.co.uk, www.skyscanner.net, www.kayak.co.uk

Fly to Agadir Airport – If you are flying to Agadir we can fetch you from the airport. Just be sure to send us your flight details!
or
Fly to Marrakech – If you land in Marrakech you can either prearrange a taxi to take you to the Surf Palace, or make your own way here on the public bus (see details below).
It is about 3 hours coach journey to Taghazout.

Bus Journey to the site

CTM and Supratours run frequent buses from Marrakech to Agadir. The trip takes about three and a half hours and costs a measly ten euros. When you land grab a cab, a petite taxi, and head to the terminal. (They leave from different terminals, choose one and tell your cab driver, they both go often).
There’s no need to book a ticket in advance, and even if you needed to you couldn’t. This is North Africa dudes. Just go with the Berber flow.
Once in Agadir take a taxi to Taghazout, the surfing village. It’s really small, so just get dropped bang in the centre of the main road. And once in Taghazout, ask for Cafe de la Paix and the venue is directly behind it, we will also have festival banners up.

Taghazout KM 20
Route d; Essaouira
Agadir – Morocco
If you’re coming from Essaouira, you can get a bus directly to Taghazout.

COACH TRAVEL FROM EUROPE
One option is the bus www.eurolines.com, with connections from most cities in Europe to Agadir.
If you are traveling from within Morocco there are two reliable bus companies which operate between all major cities in Morocco. One is CTM and the other one is called Supratours.

FERRY FROM TARIFA (Southern Spain) to Tangier (Morocco):
If you already are in the South of Spain, the best option is to take a ferry from Tarifa to Tangier ( About 35 Euro ), and once there to catch the CTM bus to Agadir (30 Euro). Buses from Tanger to Agadir leave at midday. When you come off the ferry, the CTM bus company has an office on the right hand side just after you pass customs. Check out www.frs.es & www.intershipping.es for ferries and www.ctm.ma/ for buses. Also helpful is a train journey from Tangier to Agadir found on this website.
